Thirsty?

And the Lord will continually guide you,
And satisfy your desire in scorched places,
And give strength to your bones;
And you will be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.
Isaiah 58:11 (NASB)

The image that I have posted today is a peaceful waterfall that I came across on a multiday backpack trip that had been hot and challenging with thousands of feet of climbs and descents followed by climbs again. What is always remarkable to me about these kinds of beautiful mountain garden like waterfalls is the fact that the water even late in the hottest part of August continuous to flow freely, watering both flowers and hikers alike. The waterfall continuous to flow day and night quietly watering the landscape and waits quietly along the path to refresh the passerby who comes by on a hot day like this one. I consider these places like God’s rest stops in the wilderness.

If your path of life today feels like you are walking in a desert or up a mountain with no relief in sight take this promise from Isaiah and rest in the Lord. God wants to be your guide. God wants to satisfy your thirst. God promises to give you strength and the very waters of life that He promises will never stop. All that God asks is that we place our faith and trust in Him alone and take rest and relief in what He provides.

I hope that this verse and post today has been encouraging to you no matter where you are in your journey. If you are thirsty and tired, God invites you to rest, drink, and be refreshed in His goodness.
