Divinity

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20, NASB)

When I am surrounded by the most wild and remote places it is in the quiet of these places that God speaks the loudest to me. When I see the morning mist clearing through the sunrise over a serene lake I hear His whisper over the waters. When I feel small in the shadow of a majestic peak I feel His power. When I taste the purest waters of a glacial stream that minutes before was snow I taste His goodness. When I hear frogs in nearby streams it is His creativity that speaks volumes. The morning birdsong or the call of a distant wolf in the hills equally calls to His glory.

It is the distance from the clamor and rush of a world that has forgotten God while in the pursuit of vain pleasure and wealth that reveals the true pleasure and wealth that God has poured out graciously upon His earth. The only rushing is the sound of rapid waters coming down from the mountainsides into a thousand streams becoming powerful rivers flowing into vast oceans. The wealth of fresh mountain trout and just picked huckleberry’s enjoyed at the most exclusive of lakeside dining is true pleasure. God has set the table and all that He asks is that we take the time to recognize and glorify Him for being the ultimate, eternal, and divine artist who shaped it all.

This is why I seek the solititude of nature. Not to praise the nature but to praise the Creator of all nature. This is also why I take pictures along the way.

God Bless and have a wonderful day.
